CANTAGALO JIU JITSU LONDON
Cantagalo Jiu-Jitsu London was founded by world class athlete and multiple times world champion Jackson Sousa in 2018, bringing his experience of growing up in the favela and the true spirit of Rio de Janeiro’s famous jiu-jitsu to the heart of London.
Cantagalo Jiu-Jitsu London was born from Jackson’s vision and heartfelt desire to share his passion for jiu-jitsu. Driven by resilience and a commitment to excellence, he set out to develop an effective jiu-jitsu teaching method and curriculum.
Our mission at the gym is to provide a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of experience or skill level. We have built a supportive community in London and inspire practitioners around the world.
Join us to improve your wellbeing, learn from expert world-class coaches, and become part of a community defined by our motto:
“Each One Teach One.”

WHO WE ARE
Together with our members and parents, we have developed a team charter that sets out who we are and the values we hold ourselves to:
Family & Inclusion
● We are friendly, inclusive and treat each other like family.
● We ensure everyone feels safe.
● We treat the club’s children, our future champions, with extra care and “carinho”.
Etiquette & Privacy
● We change in the changing rooms, and keep our belongings in the locker.
● We greet our coach and team mates when stepping on the mat.
● We line up in belt order.
Motivation & Respect
● We train together without ego.
● Competitors and hobbyists respect each other’s goals.
● We can decline a roll without giving a reason.
Clothing & Hygiene
● We train in a clean gi and use a rashguard for gi and no-gi.
● No jewellery, pockets or zippers. We wear shoes when we’re not on the mat.
● We cut our nails, wash our feet and hands, tie our hair back, and don’t train when we’re sick
